I bought this because of the extra thickness and it is thick; however, this mat gets very, very slippery with just minimal sweating. I am fairly new to yoga and I'm not doing hot, sweaty Ashtanga - we're talking basic yoga with some vinyasa. This would be unsuitable if you were a really proficient practitioner. I've had this less than a year and have tried various cleansers but nothing makes it less slippery.
