Stick-e Brands Yoga Stick-e Gloves Review
I bought these gloves because when I am doing yoga, my hands get REALLY sweaty and I have a hard time holding poses, particularly poses like downward dog, when my hands are slipping so badly on the mat. I picked these specific gloves because I saw there is fabric between the fingers so you don't slide out of the gloves (unlike some others that I found), and since they are fabric, I thought they would do a decent job at absorbing some of the moisture.Essentially what I have learned is that I am better off with them, but they still do not take care of the problem. My hands are still really really sweaty, and they will slide into the gloves so much that the fabric between my fingers starts to cut into my skin. I am constantly having to readjust, which is distracting. Do the sticky pads hold the gloves in place on the mat? Yes, they do, very well. Are the gloves comfortable otherwise? Yes. Does $25 seem like a lot of money for basically the same gloves that you buy in the Dollar Store during the winter for cheap kids gloves, only with the sticky patches and with the fingers cut off? Yup, it does.
The bottom line is that if you just have a small problem with sliding on the mat, these will probably help you. But if you have sopping wet hands like me, then these alone will NOT help you very much. I am going to try spraying my hands with antiperspirant in conjunction WITH the gloves to see if that does it, but I was hoping when I bought these gloves that they would eliminate the need for such measures.
